The major focus is to provide Physical Therapy to address physical motor skills as they relate to the educational of a student, so that the student is able to participate in the school environment to the best of their ability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Assists in assessing student level of functioning and need for therapy, and the development of IEP's for eligible students, and participates in IEP meetings
-Implements therapy programs developed to meet IEP goals and objectives
-Provides treatment techniques that include, but limited to, activities of daily living, guidance and use of adaptive equipment, excercises to enhance funcional performance
-Demonstrates techniques and specific programs to parents, teachers, teacher assistants, and/or other appropriate personnel
-Collects, records and maintains data on therapy programs
-Utilizess data from therapy in monitoring therapy programs
-Collaborates with special education teacher regarding student progress on goals and objectives
-Collaborate with outside agencies, as needed
-Participates in meetings, conferences, and on committees as directed
-Attends scheduled meetings and workshops for professional growth and staff development
-Ahdhere the Mississippi Code of Ethics
-Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all Marshall County Schools' records
Requirements
-License to work as a physical therapist in the state of Mississippi
-Good verbal and communicaiton skills
-Organizational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate well with children, parents, faculty, and administration
-Ability to work independently according to all physical therapist practice standards
